nearly done then thats good.

to save the hassle with the pipe work and the sock remote send thos old shocks down to me and i will send some replacements up without an ext res then you wont need to worry about it.

considering the heat the shock gets too i wouldn't of thought it would be an issue if they did contact. Cheers

I was not keen on installing in the gearbox tunnel because it's more exposed to the elements and more difficult to service, so after alot of research, I opted for a BMW X5 installation kit from Webasto Switzerland.

Hi,

This is my first post here.

I can connect to the Webasto Thermo Top Vevo (2011 ex LR Discovery part) with the W-Bus using an eBay USB OBD (beware pin 5 was not connected in my OBD adapter so had to use pin 4 (signal GND vs Vehicle GND).

In my "Control" menu of Webasto Thermo Test software v2.14 "on", "EMC measurement mode", "ventilating", "boost mode" and "circulating pump external control" are greyed out.
When I click one of the four non -greyed out options "Parking Heating", "Parking Heating (EOL)", "Supplemental Heating" or "Supplemental Heating (EOL)" I get the "NAK: access denied!".

Please see attached screenshots.

On the VW forums I have seen references to modifying a CANbus register with VAG-COM to enable the W-bus control. I have connected the CANbus lines to my OBD and installed VAG-COM but the Webasto does not show up on in the bus scan (I have tried an all address scan).

Has anyone else got experience in this area?

Thanks

Marek

Hi Marek welcome to the forum.

It's worth having a read of this whole thread from Page 1 in particular tatra805's posts. I think the problem you have is that whilst a lot of the Webastos look identical there are a number of manufacturer specific versions (in terms of the electricals/pcb) and it can sometimes be difficult/impossible to make these work as standalone heaters. I'm not sure if this is the case with the Discovery version but I believe it was originally intended as a supplementary heater rather than a parking heater.

If you have a degree in electronics I'd say go for it, otherwise bite the bullet and buy a new standard kit from Derrick at LRS

There are also lots on eBay but buy with care ... People offload all sorts of webasto and eberspacher units there

Anyone controlling a thermo top and an airtop with a single controller? I'd also quite like the ability to remotely activate them separately but I'm struggling to see how this is possible with a t91

Hey All,

Would you mind sharing some pictures of your exhaust routing and exit?

Thanks,
