I did the same 8 years and 80K miles ago, no problems at all since.
I also did indicators with the RDX relay, again no issues, and i tow. |

I dont think the sidelights are halogen.
Why not just buy LED lamp units, Wipac etc make them that just plug and play. |

| A good TD5 should not need glow plugs, i would suspect fuel pump or pressure regulator if its a fuel issue. Crank sensor is a possibility maybe?? |
