anyway, with a DVM check input to battery to confirm voltage goes up to 14.2ish when running at revs.

Well had a good look around everything today including alternator, cheers for input Andy. Battery is fully charged. All is well as far as I can see.
Still the light is on????

came on after the transfer stick popped into N. Had in the low box coming out of a Very muddy field, obviously hadn't engaged H properly, so stuck it back in, right this time, reversing ...

I would say its the rear bushings, cheep to replace, makes a big difference.

Walked into my local halfords this evening and they have Castrol Magnatec Fully synthetic 5/30 (ford spec) £17.50 and all other versions of Magnatec same price

It's an oil leak. Apparently there is an O ring that seals the pump to something and it looks like that has gone.

Problem is it is very close to the brake vacuum pump that also has a tendancy to le ...
