Ive also been wondering in regards to this green cap and valve, but never got around to asking the question. Can't seem to find any mention of it in the workshop manual, just wondering if it is only an Aussie thing.
Maybe, as mentioned before, its to bleed the air out of the lines as you draw the fuel up the low pressure side, similiar to the one on the Sealey tool.

I have the same here. I have used it a couple of times to get the air out. It it was a 2 people job. One blowing air through the filler and the other pushing the needle valve.
Now I have my alliexpress manual pump. Puma 110" SW

I made a hand bleeder from the parts that were described in the thread and it worked perfect. I wanted to keep it somewhere on the truck just in case I ever need it when not in the garage. Since it smells of diesel I do not want to keep it inside the truck. Does anyone store it under the bonnet somehow?

Hi All

I have created a bleeding bulb as described in this thread, I connected to the female fuel supply line (the blue connector) and I pumped a liter into a bottle and all was good.
When I connect the bleeding bulb inline (connected to the fuel pump) its impossible to pump.
It like the fuel pump is closed and wont allow fuel in.
Also when I turn the engine over I don't see any fuel flow through the bleeding bulb pipes.

Should it pump freely through the pump ?
Any advise please

Thanks

Kev

When connected inline, you have to open the tool’s bleed valve to allow flow.

Fuel system is free of air but it seems like the rail dont have fuel.
New filter, almost 4 liters of fuel when bleeding the system but no start!

Is the HP pump driven with chain?
Crank sensor works, swaped it from the one on my car to the non starter and my car starts with the other sensor.

It like the HP pump dont get signal or something…immo?

It was running fine, you changed the filter, and it won’t start? Or?

Have tried with a ”handpump” and an oilsucker thing as everybody else does but i dont get fuel up to the rail.
Have to change fuel lines to see if they are leaking.

So you are using this:

There are no instructions that actually tell you how to use this tool. You have to open the air bleed for it to work. Otherwise the fuel won't flow.

Alternatively, you can hook up a vacuum to the system bleed valve (green cap). You'll have to rig up an adapter that depresses the one-way valve. A bicycle pump hose for a schrader valve would do the job nicely.

Speaking of green caps, mine is missing. Can we get a replacement or spare of this? I'm not comfortable with the valve exposed to the world. No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy
