So the black awful vehicle in the pics above is "cool" as its "gansta/Cheshire spec."

If you tried, how much further away from the Icon that took 70 years to create could you get?

Someone should be shot for putting a Defender badge on that - and the others like it.

Black pack doesn’t suit it. I had black pack on a black d3 with privacy it was way to gangsta it’s an effect achieved on virtually any car with that combo. There’s a trend on defenders around here to do that pano glass conversion with black glass and add low profile wheels I never thought you could do “gangsta“ on a Classic defender but you can and people do so prepare to see a lot of that spec Confused 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I think Rory Reid has given New Defender some features JLR might not have been aware of......... “ it can drive on water” now if JLR made it do that why did they give it 900mm wading ability? Also “there is a wading setting that will close the ventilation system to prevent water getting to the system” - I haven’t read about that anywhere in the various tests that have involved deep wading......... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I think I have read that whatever setting you dial in for wading does close the ventilation system to prevent water getting to the system - not sure where though...

I was called out to a storm repair job last night and saw one of these parked on someones driveway next to a Range Rover. Presumably someone from JLR judging by the area. 2011 110 USW

TR now has a wade setting, it prepares the vehicle by closing the vents and raising the suspension.

Something to look forward to next time we have flooding will be the f***wit who's driven his new Discovery Defender into nine feet of water and is outraged that he's just written it off. Laughing

Indeed there will be many new owners thinking they are invincible especially when there are floods or snow.

If I recall they have a standing water water specification it was either 30 or 90 mins where it can stand at its max wade depth and be absolutely fine. I think that’s how they determine the wade depth rather than factoring in bow wave effect which depends on driver skill. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I'd not thought of it in those terms. I had assumed it was just the measurement from the ground to the lowest point of the air intake.

Do you have any further info?

Wales 2012 Defender 90 Other SW Keswick Green
I would like to express my hope somebody will take the direct challenge to compare an 'old' Defender 90 to the New 90 once they arrive on the street. Would be great to see where the old one nails it, so most probably take it Offroad and not to the ice cream shop. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I’m sure there will be tons of videos like that over time. I think a stock classic defender 90 vs a stock defender 90 might get a run for its money off road i it will be fun to see. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE
