That could actually look ok...

Opening rear boot? sideways not sure on plate location stuck on bumper on mule? where will it be on real thing?

Wide arches like the old ones?

wheels far too tiny on that model

Trouble is will still be the Price...

Now I've gone dizzy gawping at the cammo....

Side opening tailgate that doesn't look to be full width. Definitely a reference to our beloved machine, even if it's not the most useful feature to incorporate. Add the to that the wing vents and the mirror design and I think it's fair to say there will be at least a nod to its heritage.

Relatively narrow tyres, as per previous mules, an indication that they are going for function over form?

Looks like they've put a lot of effot to keep the departure angle good. Approach looks rubbish though, so is the bottomeof the front bumper false? Hoping the real one will be about 6 inches higher.

There is still a lot of disguise on the roof and bonnet, so ignoring those for now.

Look how far in the door glass is compared to the door pannel. Could have a wastline like our old one.

Indentation for spare wheel on boot door. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
If this is what we have been looking forward to I am disappointed as it just as I feared another Lookie-like JLR stable clone. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Looking back to the original Freelander mule, a hacked about Maestro van that bore no resemblance to the end product, I'd say these pictures are giving nothing away.

That was my second thought.

My first was "oh dear".

It does at least look as though we might get a proper reincarnation of the Discovery concept even if not a Defender.

I've always thought the new Defender will basically be a facelift of the old Discovery 4, seem I could be right?

I don't think that's a bad thing. James
