Hi, unfortunately they have told me that no fault codes have been registered. They think it’s a timing issue but that’s more of an educated guess I think. The vehicle just won’t start but she will crank all day. Once you use a bit of quick start she starts up and runs fine. The told me that they changed all the probable sensors. Fuel filter, housing and lines have been changed. Fuel pump, injectors etc have been changed previously. I have checked the relays and and looked for obvious signs of loose wiring etc. The EGR was removed previously and she has had an ECO Remap by the same people who done the injectors, the same people who are currently looking at the vehicle. The whistle sound like and electronic whistle/ constant ping! Also thanks Joe-130 I have passed your information on.

Hi All, just got word this evening that the garage thinks they have sorted the problem. The problem seems to have been a stretched timing chain causing the timing to be slightly out! Fingers crossed!

Blimey...that would worry me. What’s the cause of the stretched chain??...usually very high mileage or no maintenance. No good just replacing the chain... many checks are required. Really hope the warranty covers everything you need Clemmo ![]() Defender 90 HT............Pangea Green BMW X3 Msport............Carbon Black Mini Electric................Grey. (wow!) Handed the vehicle back and got a refund. It had trouble written all over it! Onwards and upwards! Hope the next one is a bit better. Thanks for all the responses!

They do say 100000 miles is usually time for a new chain...
