What will and won’t cause the ECU to log a driver demand fault? Obviously the throttle pedal will if faulty, but will failing Crank and map sensors do the same ?

I read a post somewhere about the turbo wastegate actuator sticking open briefly on a td5 Defender which also apparently logged similar codes ?? Not sure!

A rough idea on the td5 engine management system would be good.

turbo wastegate suggestion again as we were discussing Sat lunch.

just off a good pull down the M5 and it did it, likewise similar to other times where its been on boost for a while? Cheers

Bar the occasion into Taunton, in traffic,, no boost as such use that time

Plus a 30 mile run to Branscome for the Exeter trail,, all good, set up the event start, half hour later , go to drive the hill, problem there again

I did notice this time, after limping it into Tiverton MacDonald's, the fuel gauge moving about and being erratic ,while having a known full tank

Nanacom just giving fault code 21-06 driver demand

PS,, The input is really appreciated guys Smile California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

If you still have the Nanocom and are willing to save & send some fuelling data logs, I'd be happy to take a look & try ascertain what's happening. Have a few ideas but all long shots without any prior EMS input data troubleshooting.

Sorry, i should have updated this thread !! my bad Big Cry

Original ECU was sent away and checked/rebuilt and has been fine ever since,

Was told was a bit like Mad tom said (SMD resistors inside or with bad solder joints) and probably been like it a while as had a throttle switch just before i bought the 90 California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

ECU Testing in Derbyshire Smile Thumbs Up

I presume the 90 is still working Rolling Eyes , only used once in last 6/8 months, but does have a drive round day to do next Sunday

Great thread and thanks to all of those that pitched in...
It's now my turn to deal with the same malarkey, with the added fun of a fuel gauge that climbs from a known empty status to a new fuel status. Folks have been mentioning earth points??? Where do I even begin to start looking???
I was quite intrigued on reading about the transfer box switch and the different maps... My switch that shows when difflock is engaged has been broken for some time now, could it have finally now created a complete break of circuit or potential intermittent short circuit causing my limp mode and dead throttle??? Should I replace it or unplug from it and insulate the terminals??
Many thanks
