I didn’t need to in order to fit it, and there isn’t a load of spare thread hanging out the back once the nuts are on, so I wouldn’t bother.

I still think its a much better engineering solution to put a access panel in the rear floor whilst you have it stripped down. its what Land Rover should of done and did on Discovery. I was certainly glad on the last pump I fitted as the fuel gauge didn't read right when I road tested it so swapping the pump again wasn't a big deal.

Not far away from a rolling chassis, just need to build up the front hubs.

Got the first bit of paint on the bulkhead. But this is the bulkhead before paint.

Now the bulkhead is back I'm planning on spraying some epoxy mastic (EM121) on the bottom and I've bought some Dynomat Extreme to put on the inside.

I've been reading some old threads on sound deadening and I'm still not clear if I should completly cover the whole of the inside of the bulkhead or not and if I cover the inside does everything still fit in place?

Advice is much appreciated....

Very nice workmanship here, what diameter are those magic looking brakes?

Pickles - The brake rotors are 405mm with 8 pot calipers, however there is a fitment issue, the calipers are binding on the lower track rod end, so looks like 8 pots are out of the question going forward.

The caliper bracket binds on the TRE

Been fitting some of the on-air suspension parts

Rear height sensors

The front height sensor does not fit as per the manual, on-air have told me they have not seen this arrangement with the extra webbing behind the bulkhead outriggers, however it's the same on my original LR chassis, so got to come up with a solution that fits. This is the extra webbing and with the new sensor placement.

Won’t be a lot of clearance for unplugging the sensor.

Air reservoir installed.

Lower bulkhead and galvanised brackets coated with EM121.

Going to start fitting the dynamat to the inside of the bulkhead over the next weekend, not quite sure how that going to work out..........

Still no news on the engine mounts and LT230/8L90 adapter from RW-Eng in the states, I'm hopeful for early June

Wow,..405MM, that is huge, & 8 piston calipers,...I have 410mm 6 piston APs on our HSV GTSR, and they are the biggest brakes ever fitted to an Aussie car!
Surely with all of the engineering/planning you have done, you will be able to find a way around the caliper issue,..different brackets maybe?
So can you still use the 405mm disc with a 6 piston caliper?
Following your build with great interest.
Pickles.

Finished the dynamat on the inside of the bulkhead

couldn't resist putting the wheels on even though they will need to come off again when I finally sort the brake calipers, really can't get on with much except building the bulkhead.

can anyone suggest some descent centre caps??

Wow, really looking good!

Surprised on air haven’t seen the bulkhead bracing before, it’s been there since about 2002 if I remember correctly!

For the callipers, have you considered getting new adapters made? Couldn’t you rotate the calliper around the frisk slightly to give you the clearance you require on the track rod end?

Jimbo,

Thats the plan, they are going to make then in the next couple of weeks. The only issue is clearance on the top swivel mount, I'm still a little concerned that the mount is going to be thiner than before. This is the concept drawing I sent them.

The only other thing is that I may have to cut away part of the sheild

this is the current clearance so it's all so very close

Looking forward to hearing is fire up for the first time. Does the LT1 shut down 4 cylinders when cruising?
