I've finally got her back. Reconditioned box with upgraded bearings and 5th gear. Once again the local indie have done a Stirling job. I did however shed a tear when I received the bill Big Cry

I am currently waiting to hear whether the gearbox reconditioning company will knock a bit off the price. it has been fitted for four years but only 26000 miles. Fingers crossed. I believe their official warranty is 12 months unlimited milage. 2002 110 td5

In case anyone is interested...

The population of Black Edition Td5 110s (all are DCPU) peaked at 144 in 2002 and has since dropped to 101, with the SORN count currently at 18. So presumably this means that 25 have been destroyed or exported.

That’s not a bad survival percentage. I bet if you searched for an equivalently valued “normal” car of that age the survival rate would be way lower. I guess it shows how well defender owned look after their vehicles. Although, they aren’t that fast. I bet most hot hatches get written off in accidents Rolling Eyes 2002 110 td5
