This pic though

I think I would be talking to my dealer about that and getting them to sort it under warranty

This was a clients vehicle, I put the pic up as an example as I have seen a another like this since. The owner was going to have a word with the dealer, I don't know what the outcome was!

You did kindly tell me all that on the phone, but there was so much I forgot some, so need a re visit when it's a bit drier outside.

Any thoughts on the dinitrol engine spray wax?

Also a pillars didn't have bungs, I put some in from the kit, was that a good idea?

Really good write up, something to print off and maybe make as a pdf for downloading.

Cheers

DJ

Laughing Yes I bet taking notes from my exasperated pain riddled ramblings was tricky Embarassed I have no experience of the Engine Wax Confused but with regards to the bung, it sounds silly but you can always put a smaller hole in the bung to let water out if it can't get out elsewhere, that way it will stop most of the muck getting in!

Fill my chassis up with mud and water Stoker Shocked I'm going into a cold sweat just thinking about it Laughing I have my old boat for messing about in water, Ratty said nothing about Land Rovers Whistle

With the family away I've had a relaxing couple of days working on the Defender and she is all tucked up in the garage, cleaned, preened and polished sheltered from the weather. I'll be using the Series over the next couple of months for daily duties once I put on a new exhaust, sort the brakes and wiper motor for the MOT Sad

I do like my Snorkel though, it's a thing of beauty, must stop stroking it Shocked

Zag, when you say sealing under the window rubbers do you mean just prising the rubber away from the bodywork and siliconing along?

I did take the windscreen fixing brackets off and do this as I noticed water had been getting in through the bolt holes. I have also nipped up the nuts that fasten the body sections together under the rear windows as I presume they needed nipping up to compress the seal tighter

Yes the nozzle on your substance of choice if cut at an angle will go under the rubber so just run the nozzle along whilst pumping out the stuff with the caulking gun. It's a very messy/tricky job especially with the alpine lights, I took my inserts out to do those as they are in so hard!
