Good point about the 1" and 3/4", I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately, I still haven't received a response from any of the stores... Apparently, the speakers I originally had in mind are no longer available. Someone recommended these as an alternative: https://www.focal.com/de/produkte/isu-130 Some datasheets: https://media.focal-naim.com/dam/tweeter-t...twu1-5.pdf https://media.focal-naim.com/dam/isu-130/f...130_en.pdf Does anyone have experience with them in a Defender? The feedback from a German dealer is very positive, although all of them are in other vehicles (some say they expected a bit more bass). Thanks and regards ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Unfortunately 10cm and 13cm do have their limitations with bass really, 160’s are better at least midrange, but Defenders have their fitting limitations, then there is engine noise etc. ____\We|Will|Win/___

Okay, thanks for the assessment
![]() I read more tests and comparisons of speakers, their crystal-clear sound, etc. – and then I thought to myself: Honestly, this is a Defender, not a Bentley. There's no point in exaggerating it; the car itself isn't exactly quiet... I'll give the ones mentioned above a try and report back. Thanks and regards ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Good luck. The brand is a very good one.
![]() Yes, Defender background noise is very influential. To be honest sound proofing / dampening is an upgrade in itself also, a reduction in background noise just by 3dB is a real benefit to SQ in itself. ![]() ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

hHehe, thanks
![]() That's right, the sound proofing / dampening effect is impressive. My roof is still missing, but otherwise, everything's done. I didn't expect a TD5 to be so quiet... Regards ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Hi everyone, here we go - Thanks again for the tips. I've now installed the Focal ISU 130, along with the Continental radio TRDW312UB-OR. Please note that the speakers are delivered without grilles. The originals are 10cm, the ISU 130 is 13cm, so you'll need matching grilles. The speakers fit well in the TD5; I used the new grille as a template and enlarged the hole accordingly with a jigsaw. That was unexpectedly easy. The tweeter cables are long enough to connect them to the speakers; a crossover is already integrated. I replaced the cables from the speaker to the radio, just in case. The sound is nice and clear, much better than the original. As mentioned, the bass is okish with the 13cm speakers; you shouldn't expect (too) much here. Maybe a small subwoofer will be added later. If anyone has a good tip... ![]() I think for a lean setup with a manageable investment, the ISU 130 are a good option. Thanks again and greetings, ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Hehehe ;D
Let's see what options there are for integrating a small and elegant subwoofer. If anyone has a tip or recommendation... ![]() I noticed that the bezel of the radio (FHF000070PMA) is quite loose and is only held in place by a single clip on each side, EYC106690. The parts catalog lists the Wire Trim Retention (FBT000020), but I don't have them anymore. Thanks, previous owner. Are they (also) there to secure the top and bottom panel? Then I'd retrofit them... Thanks and greetings, ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Hi All!
Was dreaming of a double DIN set up after being able to drive an office vehicle with Apple CarPlay and Android that came as standard. Unfortunately, all my resources went into rebuilding my pride and joy. Thing being the case, I'm now just looking to replace my long in the tooth single DIN Alpine unit. Considerations are, works with bluetooth, supports hand free calling, and has green back lighting to match the rest of the dash. Eventually planning to pair with Focal front, tweeters, and rear speakers. Not really keep on a subwoofer though. Suggestions on head units and how to get the most of this planned set up is much appreciated. Also planning to do heat and sound insulation on the truck so this should help appreciate the outcome.
