For reference the Puma tweeters are 1”, that might be helpful info to have.

As there are 3/4” tweets as well, which are too small.

I have Kicker KS Series 1” on mine, on a dedicated Amp.
They have a fitting kit with them and a securing ring etc for behind, they are very loud and crisp if needed.

Hi,
Unfortunately, I still haven't received a response from any of the stores... Apparently, the speakers I originally had in mind are no longer available.

Someone recommended these as an alternative:

Does anyone have experience with them in a Defender?
The feedback from a German dealer is very positive, although all of them are in other vehicles (some say they expected a bit more bass).

Unfortunately 10cm and 13cm do have their limitations with bass really, 160’s are better at least midrange, but Defenders have their fitting limitations, then there is engine noise etc. ____\We|Will|Win/___

Okay, thanks for the assessment

I read more tests and comparisons of speakers, their crystal-clear sound, etc. – and then I thought to myself: Honestly, this is a Defender, not a Bentley. There's no point in exaggerating it; the car itself isn't exactly quiet...

I'll give the ones mentioned above a try and report back.

Good luck. The brand is a very good one.

Yes, Defender background noise is very influential.
To be honest sound proofing / dampening is an upgrade in itself also, a reduction in background noise just by 3dB is a real benefit to SQ in itself.

That's right, the sound proofing / dampening effect is impressive.
My roof is still missing, but otherwise, everything's done. I didn't expect a TD5 to be so quiet...
