No personal experience, so not what you asked for sorry, but seem to recall these guys have a good reputation over many years and were certainly very pleasant and not pushy when I went to view a truck they had for sale a few years ago https://www.marpleroadgarage.com/ Rob

The first Defender I ever drove was a test drive of one of theirs. They just chucked th ekeys at me and left me to it. No pressure at all. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Thanks both for the swift reply. I'd agree about Marple Road Garage; it's where it's serviced and is very satisfactory, and the people really helpful but they are unable to take this on at the moment anyway. So I was looking for somewhere else, there are loads of Defenders about so it's probably not the the only place.

Try Dave Lees Stocport https://www.facebook.com/DaveLeesG4SVV/?locale=en_GB
Or Land Ranger Services at Stockpot, Sheffield St, Stockport SK4 1RU https://www.landranger.co.uk/ Both are very good For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

There is nothing wrong with Marple Road Garage, and the lads are skilled, however, a lot of their work is farmed out to Land Ranger, just saying
![]() Another to try is Hallam Brothers Ltd at Hayfield, never used their services, but as they have been around since 1932, they must have learned a thing or two. https://www.hallambros.co.uk/ For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Thanks; it seems like many (most!) places are rammed out with work. And that of course is a good sign in many ways, but it's a few weeks' wait. So just casting round to see if anywhere was able to take it on any sooner.

Hallam Brothers in Hayfield are the Defender specialists round here, l've used them since 2006 and can recommend them unreservedly.
Note l have no connection with the garage only my experience using them. They are always rammed out with work though. Another one is Marple Bridge Motor Company, they often have Defenders/Discovery in for repairs and their reviews are good. |
