Anyone on here have success running a cable from the battery (under front seat) to under the boot floor? Can't believe how tricky it's turning out! Cheers, David

In case it's helpful, here's what I came up with over the last 24 hours...
I've not fitted a dual battery system strictly, but I have fitted a Renogy 1000W inverter off a ignition-switched relay under the boot floor, so that I can then charge my EcoFlow 0.5kWh battery pack and run fridges, laptops, etc. I ran a cable from the battery (under driver seat) to the rear, underneath the foam boot floor insert, and there I connected it to a mega-fuse block with 80A fuse and a switched relay. You can get an ignition feed to switch the relay from the blue and green wire which goes into the connector for the deployable rear tow bar. Click image to enlarge My inverter then sits inside the foam with wired routed through a small access window that I cut myself for ease. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge For now I've just got the inverter sat in there loose, with an extension cable and the CAT-5 cable to the remote panel wiggling their way up above the boot floor Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge In the future I might build myself a more custom under-boot panel and storage area out of ply, but that's one for another day. I also need to find a neater permanent way to route the battery cable - it's much harder than you'd think to get a cable under the rubber flooring so for now it's just underneath the rubber mats... Suggestions welcome! Click image to enlarge Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

@cheshire110
Routing under the rubber flooring, very tight. You may need to remove the rear seating frame. 2nd picture on this: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic87513.html No Mud flaps for my 90.! ----------------------------------------- P300S MY21 Keswick Green on air, adv.+ offroad pack, DRL+fog, Dinamica Suedecloth + Ebony headliner/Cross Beam- Many Mods.. |

I can't upload the *.pdf file I've created, so if anyone is interested - shoot me the PM. Sample pictures (3): Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge ![]() |
