Hi dsstephens,
I have a feeling you tried to connect to the car with the engine running.
I did the same because I wanted to save battery life.
This did not work for me, too.

Please try to use the IID-Tool with the car set to ignition on but without the engine running.
This way it is possible to write data like CCF to the car.

You could write Patrick from GAP Team an email about your problem: team@gap-diagnostic.com Greetings

I’m going to chime in here and say that I always connect with the engine running. Both the G3 and now the G4 stop the engine when they need to. If you put your foot on the brake, the GAP tool will restart your engine and the transfer will fail. (My experience anyway).

I will give it a shot but as a later poster indicates, it controls stop and start, and section 2.7 says it can be running. I'm happy to give it a shot anyway. thanks! 2020 SE First Edition

I did pay special attention to keeping my giant feet away from the brake pedal. In any case, I'll try again this evening. 2020 SE First Edition

Got the G4 this weekend and activated. Connected and read. noticed 3 things
1) engine is running, but it is flashing red letters at the top indicating <ign> (need to verify exact wording).
2) when connected, it threw a "emergency braking not allowed" error without any intervention
3) tried changing 007 setting as a simple one and the ACC as not so simple; update failed. tried restoring backup, update failed (even though it hadn't successfully written first). now it throws ATPC and HDC not available errors. Will let it sit and go out and try it all again. open to any suggestions.

I also activated a G4, but without any of those issues. It successfully programmed ACC plus a couple of other CCF modifications. The ACC change did briefly result in an "emergency braking not available" message, but that went away after restarting the engine.

Did you update the G4 firmware after activating the unit?

ah, I updated it to Build 79, then went outside and activated it and started using it. Based on your (muppetry) message, I ran the updater again, and it updated now to Build 80.

Maybe that was it. Cheers! 2020 SE First Edition

ding ding ding. AFTER activating was the key here, not before activating. Worked the charm. Cheers. 2020 SE First Edition

Glad it worked, but when mine arrived, the updater told me I already had the latest and I activated without updating. A few days later an update was available. I should check again.

My G4 (already sent back my G3 to Canada) is arriving next week but I’ve been hit with a £59 charge by ups. Anyone else get charged?

Cheers fella 👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve already activated the features using JetPro a few months back but have been afraid to tinker further as I only had the 3 day licence and I didn’t want any error codes.
