Does anyone know if you need to have the signature graphic square optioned on the vehicle if you want to fit the side mount ladders and side storage box on the 90? I’m seeing conflicting reports that it is needed to protect the glass...

Not sure how the square protects the rear mount for the storage box as it's nowhere near it:

And if that's the case, then it's hard to see why it would be required for the front mount?

I believe it is required.

EDIT - Looks like it’s not required for fitting but possibly best to have it to avoid damaging the glass with shoes.

The press review embargo finished at midnight so there should be a boat load of reviews on the 90 in the morning

"This really can be fidgety and upset by even the smoothest looking road surfaces [...] So what I'm saying is beside a modern SUV this is still distinctly average to drive"

I've driven the new defender and a lot of other SUVs, and calling the new defender "distinctly average to drive" is a bit harsh. Some of these reviewers... well, I'm not sure what they expected. MY2021 Defender 90 P400 SE

When I was considering a run out Adventure edition Puma one of the things the dealers said to me was that the 90 was less pleasant to drive long distances than the old 110 and that I might prefer to go for a 110. Several people I know with Puma 90’s have commented on the bouncier nature of the old 90 too. Also he comments on the car needing road tyres, what does he expect an off-road biased vehicle to come with? He would have criticized it even more harshly if the car was riding on ultra low profile racy tyres like those BMW fit to their X series vehicles. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

All that’s done for me is justified my decision not to go for air suspension.

Though LR have always said the 90 will be agile and responsive, too me they’ve hit the mark.

Can’t wait for mine to arrive

That was dreadful ~ he seemed to take some pride in his ignorance.

Only real fact I gleamed from it was P400 mpg:

Car crash of a review! Forgot to turn camera on for the P400,next morning turns up hungover to hell still drunk for the P300! He also said it was base spec but really it was an SE with 20” wheels, off road tyres, sun roof and full leather! Add all that up and there’s probably 10k worth of additional extras on the vehicle Rolling with laughter
