Mark Smyth@Motorscribe Proper mud-plugging day with the
@landrover #newDefender 90 at Eastnor Castle today. Included the famous Camel Trophy trial water dips. Still can’t tell you how it drove but pictures have stories to tell. https://twitter.com/Motorscribe/status/1317492385119612929?s=20

First thing when my Defender arrives I'll make a hole in the plastic cover to reach that recovery point easily.

It’s removable so just turn the holding clips with a coin to expose it before going off-road, replace it when you are finished. If you have the front protection plate the eye is exposed all the time.

Funny how the colours look differently on the 90 vs the 110 to me - I think the Tasman Blue is the best colour for the 110, but on the 90 it just doesn't look right.

That Light Blue/Silver from the tweet posted earlier, though, is spectacular on the 90 Thumbs Up --

I wonder if the tow rope that is draped along the bonnet was needed.......... not great place to put it if you treasure the paint on the bonnet. It looks a bit weedy for pulling any style of Defender out of the swamp.

Looks more like a winch rope extension ~ tied to the wing mirror with a bootlace:

Folding canvas roof, nice but I just don’t trust it not to leak at some point in its life. Probably the first fortnight Laughing

The Yellow Van Man from DHL made a delivery this morning and wanted to know where my 110 was hiding! I told him it’s having a scratch polished out and PPF doing, then he says “ I’ll have to look into that for mine when it comes, a couple of weekends ago I took the wife to look at them and last Sunday we went to look at the 90 version and signed up for a Pangea Green 90 D250 SE with black roof, panoramic roof and tow pack for our caravan. We had a test drive in a 110 like yours and loved the air suspension so might add that too before the order is looked down.” He’s using a 20 year old Land Cruiser as a tow car but it’s on its last legs and his wife is fed up with it breaking down! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

The front lower intake/ bumper would look much better in body colour or white I think. I saw a photo of an Urban tart up job with body coloured wheel arch protectors which also looks good but very expensive work to smooth the grey plastic down ready to prime and paint. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

The silver bumpers are the one thing I don’t like on the Defender. I may do something with them.

I know its the main reason ive ordered a silver 90 , so the silver sections match, otherwise I'd of have to have them painted

Does anyone know if you need to have the signature graphic square optioned on the vehicle if you want to fit the side mount ladders and side storage box on the 90? I’m seeing conflicting reports that it is needed to protect the glass...

I’m sure that that is right however no reason why you couldn’t retro fit the ladder yourself after taking delivery of a car without the signature square and adding something like rubber blocks on the back of the ladder so it stays steady in use but not flexible enough to scratch the glass. I’m sure that if you added the LR ladder you will still, need to fit the roof rails to mount it on so it hangs down secured to the rails. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
