As above - just fitted the condenser and the temp goes down when on, but the fan does not work from the plug - good earth but no positive power
Tested the fan and it works ok when direct power is applied but not from the plug - the green/black cable is in tact ... and the 10 amp fuse under the dash is in good order ... any pointers ?? Doesn't the fan only run when required? I seem to remember it doesn't tend to run that often either, unless it's particularly hot. Darren

I’m not sure when its supposed to comes on ... I’ll look at my partners and see what conditions makes that one come on ...

New condenser fitted today and will regass tomorrow.
I went with one of these ‘aftermarket’ ones - £250 delivered which beats £450 for the OE type. Ordered on the 16th, arrived on the 23rd and without customs charges these are designed for hotter climates and almost twice the size. As for fitting… Not quite a direct swap  but pretty straightforward. Took around twenty mins.
There are fan mounting brackets on the new condenser however they are designed to accommodate a 15” fan whereas the OE fan is 12” - perhaps the AC fan is 15” on the continent? Anyway I bolted the original fan through the cooling fins the same as the mounting arrangement on the OE condenser. Works fine but I may keep my eyes peeled for a 15” one Then the condenser fouled slightly on the intercooler, perhaps as my intercooler is aftermarket? So I spaced the condenser forward with some nylon spacers approx 10mm thick. Finally the aluminium AC pipes were slightly out of alignment but are easily tweaked to suit. The seller said “Since your new condenser is slightly bigger than the old one, you need to top up a bit more refrigerant gas” I spoke with the manufacturer (Shuberg Radiators Malta) who said 70 - 100g additional refrigerant depending on climate - to be determined using gauges. Spoke with a local AC specialist who said he would use gauges to determine peak efficiency > 110 XS Double Cab

Air con gassed today. No leaks detected on the leak test, 700g gas, leak tracing fluid and oil pumped in... Icy cold air conditioning once again
Will make a big difference driving through France.
One thing the guy said which I had complete wrong in my mind was to use the AC as much as possible. I actively try to use it as little as possible, king of preservatively I suppose. He said this does the components no good. > 110 XS Double Cab > Instagram @simonlanemind |

I am reading this thread as I have been suffering from excessive heat (>40 °C) in my Puma 2.4 on the French highways two days ago. I had a Coolair Logan Aircon fitted to my car recently. The system works but once the engine is hot not even 1 hour driving at 120 km/h) the aircon blows only warm air into the cabin so that I need to switch it off. Gas has been controlled and set to 625g as recommended by Coolair Logan.
Any advice would be most welcome. |

I'd take a look at your heater control valve to see if it's closing properly. They have a habit of sticking and letting water by, which can overwhelm the AC when the engine is properly hot. Darren
