So I was talking to the editor of LRM @ Kelmarsh over the weekend, Patrick and I have met a few times and get along well, (I also met Jack Dobbo who is known on instagram as Jackuar_Landrover).

Patrick told me he has seen the final vehicle and some of the variations, some great things along the utility line up, jerry cans, steel wheels etc. He is driving it in the next few weeks, he has pictures on his phone but is not allowed to print them.

He seemed very pleased with what he has seen. 2016 D4 HSE

My series 111 has a pull out filler neck to aid filling from a jerry can. Wonder if they thought of adding this to the new model. If not it's ridiculously difficult to fill up from a jerry can. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I noticed those holes earlier could be speakers I was thinking vent holes for rear aircon Question I would think they will do what they did on the D3 and have the rear surround speakers in the back pillars it works well. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Also noticed the camo on the top of the rear window it looks almost frameless. Would be great to have a drop down window available like on the Freelander 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I hear that the optional extras will include a radio/cassette player to ease some of us who drive older Defenders into the new model..... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Rogers confirms the new Defender will be available with tyre sizes of up to 32 inches, like the predecessor. These large tyres provide a desirable contract patch, making it perfect for serious off-roading

That's like the old days of saying a Land Rover on 7.50R16 is all you need. It's just wrong. The difference, I suspect, is that with the old ones you can put the brochure in the bin and fit something much taller/wider according to need, without much modification. I doubt that will be possible on the new one. ---

Contact patch when you let your tyres down is long ways front to back, with taller tyres this increases. Having approx 32'sx10s standard will give a great long contact patch.

Looking at thess pics, looks to be a fair bit more space under the guards for wider wheels/tyres and an inch or two taller tyres with little to no mods.

Also comparing smaller brakes of older moab shots of the mild hybrid 4cyl diesel and these UAE desert shots with different bigger front brakes, in both it looks likes wheels could be reduced 2inches, moab maybe 3.

So yeah i think there will be room for us to tweak, having said that thing seems to be doing pretty well on its factory offerings, so i imagine most will stick to factory sizes. Time will tell. Cool
