I took mine out so I could hide the OBD socket as another security measure (get an OBD extension from ebay to place it somewhere else. |

Yep. Go for the security upgrades first. You can assemble lots of the parts and make them yourself. A few are easier to buy the kits.

I think from memory mine was the same. Really tight to undo, then seemed loose when I twisted it on. It was fine though, worked perfectly. |
