VCV will relearn.
When I did mine all was fine, I left her to idle a good 15 mins whisky obviously being with it whilst it was at all times. Don’t Rev it or anything like that, but enough for engine to warm up a little. Shut off. Then went back inside, had a cup of tea then went for a ten mile round trip after that and all was fine. Mind you I replaced it in temperate temperatures and wasn’t really cold. If you can leave it until weather at least 10.C plus would be better imo if you can but if not you can’t. I was surprised how much power I had back when it was sorted out. Sadly mine wouldn't idle. Still running like a dream today.
Diesel clatter / bag of spanners sound gone. Everything is much more refined. Need another good motorway journey to warm her up fully and blow through the cobwebs!! 2009 Defender 90 CSW 2.4 TDCI. Ex Army Mechanic still living the dream. |
