I drilled and tapped the capping, it’s easy enough and the capping gives probably 3-4mm of thread. The curve does make it more difficult to get all of them sitting perfectly straight though

It’s not ideal, but a long as you’re prepared it’s not the end of the world, the tyre being the matching diameter is the more important factor.
