Led lightbar

Even with upgraded light bulbs, highbeams are not so performing. For normal road conditions it's ok, but in twisties, narrow roads, forests, moutains etc where wild life can suddenly cross the road it is very tiring and uncomfortable. A led light bar was on my bucket list since this difficult leg by a rainy night from Narvik to Andenes in the Lofoten islands. I was fortunate enough to have been able to follow a very well equiped local car for miles. So here what I have installed now.

Lightbar: road legal OSRAM VX1000 CB SM, 108W, 40"

I have not found a 52" road legal led bar at a reasonable price. This 40" is ok and enough.

Bracket: Nakatanenga flat mount. No drill, fixed like a standard roof rack

Result is pleasing, low profile, don't see from inside

Lightbar mounted with custom bracket made of standard galvanized steal angle brace wraped with heat-shrinkable sleeve.

And pretty effective for a road legal stuff.

Power cable is a 2x1mm2 flat gained cable, routed and pinched in the front door top corner seal and hidden behind A pillar plastic trim, than down in the foowell below the floor mats and to the battery box. Fused with a 10A and lighted on/off with a simple and regular switch. No drill at all, the cable being flat enough to pass between the battery box and the sliding cover.

This setup is easily installed/removed. I also have an OSRAM harness with a relay, to be installed and connected in the engine bay, but currently I do not see any advantages to have a more permanent setup.

Rear flood led lights

Installed those ultra cheap Aliexpress flood LED lights, 72w 2'200 lumens. Unbeatable value for $.

Now able to reverse without steering to noise Very Happy

Cable routed below the left rear rain gutter than through rear door seal, a simple switch to light it when needed.
