Not sure about having the bikes slung so high they are above roof level on a defender, looks like a recipe for an 'incident' and if nothing else, bad fuel economy?

I have one of these extenders with the locking quick leaver if anyone interested - £100 @ Chester

Defender has gone hence sale - used once.

Does anyone have any other experiences or recommendations for a bike rack, I need to carry 3 bikes (including 1 e-bike) down to the Alps next month but options seem limited…

I have this similar setup for 4 bikes. Works well and can still open tailgate about half way MY25 D350 Defender 110 X, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar
