2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 CSW Keswick Green

Rushing fan noise under acceleration

Hi, I’ve suddenly developed a whooshing noise that goes up and down with the level of acceleration, the noise sounds like the heater fan blower but it’s not. Would I be right in saying it may be a crack in the turbo hose? I’m Only basing this on some basic research and from searching previous forum posts. I did hit a track pothole at speed (unintentionally!) which was quite a big bump, the blowing noise didn’t happens straight away but probably 10 minutes Later...any suggestions appreciated.

If it sounds like a mini hurricane then yes it's likely to be a hose. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

I had something similar recently after hitting a pothole. It was a cracked inlet manifold.

I’m a bit out of my comfort zone on this as the leak isn’t obvious, will have to drop it in! I’ll update for everyone’s info but thanks for the input.

I had exactly the same issue and whooshing noise.
Drove it around for a few more days confused until the light came on and the vehicle lost power.
Was a hole in one of the intercooler hoses. Replaced with silicone hoses.
A real knuckly scraping job to do the lower elbow but ok to do. Loads on info on here if you fancy giving it a bash.
