It just looks so solid, so well specced and built. Saw it on the Vuelta yesterday. Like it more and more every time, except for the twin spots in the grille. I’d get rid. But I’m even used to the G-Wagen hybrid bonnet and front bumper now. Monsieur Le Grenadier

The single visible wiper is still a feature, I see. Does anyone know if there's a second wiper parked out of sight under the bonnet line, or is there really just one? My OCD has trouble with the appearance in the photo.

I think the single wiper along with the interior is just a sign of its' prototype nature. Probably just enough to make it useable so that they could use it for the Tour de France and other publicity. Darren

Front end is a bit Iveco Massif. WARNING.

It would be very very easy to remove that grill etc and replace with something that makes it look just like a defender. I’m sure there are lots of aftermarket suppliers that have cad drawings ready to go in production once they launch the grenadier and can see there are sufficient vehicles out there and a trajectory for lots more.
I suspect Ineos had that in mind all the time, knowing if the front end looked too much like a defender they may not win the copyright litigation with JLR. So created the ability for aftermarket suppliers to easily produce a defender front end look once the purchaser has their vehicle.

I agree with the above. Im sure there will be plenty of aftermarket bumpers and grills for this.
I imagine the chubby bumper is just for crash regulations. Along with the low slung steering guard.

I think the IP case revolved exclusively around the images JLR had registered; there was no Grenadier design/shape involved at the time in the case.

Hi all, been reading the Grenadier threads for a while, and watching the vehicles development with great interest.

I currently drive a jeep JK that's done me well for 7 years, offroad, overland trips to the continent, aswell as daily driving. As much as I love the jeeps, I want to replace it with something a bit different.

As previously stated, the jeeps are no good for towing or carrying a load (something I do quite often in my line of work), and as the gladiator doesn't seem to be making it's way to the UK, the Grenadier is top of my list.

I see a lot of hate towards INEOS for purchasing the hambach plant in france, and dropping plans to build the Grenadier in wales... really guys? Ineos is first and foremost a business, a privately owned one at that. If it wasnt for a billionaire defender enthusiast, the whole project wouldn't exist!

We know that designing and manufacturing a niche model from scratch is a risky business, and Ineos should do everything to deliver the Grenadier to the customer as quickly, efficiently and cost effectively as possible, without sacrificing the quality of the end product. If Wales was the best place for manufacturing, then that's where it would have been manufactured! The fact is we are not in the financial meetings and its gotta work from a business point of view!

I'd have loved for the vehicle to have been built in the UK, and I'd always back British business, but in this case, I really just want a Grenadier on my driveway in early 2022!

Waffle over, thanks for listening, and happy new year!

In my humble opinion as an English man who has worked in Wales for many years I believe that whilst Wales is led by the last Marxist in power in the UK no sensible business will invest in Wales. Let’s hope the Welsh electorate make a sensible decision on 6th May and the whole of Wales can grow and Welsh decision making is no longer Cardiff centric. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper
