As some of you have strong opinions, I hope you have filled in their questionnaire online (at their site). They ask, what do YOU want? They even ask how it should be powered: petrol, hybrid, electric, etc. My only fear is that the price will be stupid. As it's going to be a small company (albeit attached to a huge one), I fear niche-company prices. Ideally, I think, it should be no more than £30k. Am I a dreamer? |

They are many companies operating in Britain who don't share his belief that German engineers are better - especially in motor manufacturing! I run a small manufacturing business myself, and I used to think German engineering was king - until we experienced some poor German engineering! I don't think BMW, Audi, or VW have ever been top of the JD Power survey, have they? If they were, I missed it. |

£30k is wishful thinking.

I'm not sure what surprised me most about the video; that they needed to use Mitsubishi's in the green landing scenes, or that you could actually here Ratcliffe speaking as he was driving! |

I think FK would be perfect. Always covered in mud, looks good in town, also of the same 'vintage' as the original Def. There's always VBH who loves Defs and is often bouncing around in them on 5th Gear, wooping and laughing... ![]() http://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-press-an...5528446141 Or perhaps someone who isn't famous but really 'knows' Defs... ![]() Click image to enlarge Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I was reading a local paper last week and I'm sure it was stated that they intend to build the vehicle in the North East of England. Don't make old people mad.

That's just legal posturing, isn't it? I'm not up too much on trademark law, but seeing as the Ibex has already been, and wasn't contested by Land Rover at the time, then I seriously think LR's attempt would be thrown out. There's the Bollinger, and the Lada Niva as well. Trademarking a boxy car shape is surely impossible this late in the car-design game. |

So that Jim Ratcliffe guy who's planning on rebuilding the Defender or something like it has got a website and a survey for us 4x4 drivers. Feel free to fill it out with your opinions |

Merged into Projekt Grenadier thread - it's not a Defender so let's keep the forum tidy and keep it in OT |
