Dash display lighting
I haven’t done much dusk/dark driving but yesterday I found in the gloom of a winter’s dusk I could hardly see the dials and info display in the main dash display but the PiviPro display in the middle of the dash was still on daylight intensity (which was fine) so I went searching around the dash trying to find the lighting rheostat........... nothing found. So how do I change the intensity if the screen brilliance on the dash in front if the driver? I know where to adjust the PiviPro screen intensity. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Try the interior illumination switch, which is down by the park brake.

Thanks J,
I asked on another group and was told to bend down a bit further! It’s not exactly obvious and you have to press it in and when it pops out turn it to adjust!

It seems a bit out of the way.

This illumination switch is not fitted to my Defender, I was convinced all the time.

Took a look again today. Magically it appeared...
😳

Good morning Simon- I haven’t tested it yet, if it’s dark enough later today to trigger dusk/ night lighting I’ll give it a go. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Simon, it works in daylight but ............. it seems to have a fair bit of lag between turning the knob and dimming/ brightening happening. I’ll look after sunset again because I think that it was already on maximum brightness and that was really too dark even at night to see the info/sat nav screen between the dials. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

I have the same issue.
On a dark day, everything is very dim.
The control dial is on maximum.
Has been like it since new, so may be a dealer fix.
Is the lux sensor in the centre front of dash?

I now have both screens dim at the same time but the brilliance control has very little effect. I can see a tiny change in intensity but it’s still too dark to read at dusk after the screens have dimmed. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Odd, the digital dash in my Velar has a black background and I’ve no issues viewing that at night. I would’ve thought the Defenders dash being blue would be more visible.

It’s not the dials but the info screen in the middle that is the issue

Thus is minimum brightness

On Maximum
