I think that depends on model and year, my front doors are but rear doors not!

Not sure then, mine is an 11 plate 110xs. I'm sure someone will be able to tell you..

The two bolts that go into the door on each hinge need a 13mm spanner on the back but the ones in the a/b posts have captive nuts. Ray

I don't think the Defender has changed in this area for some time now on my MY 2011 (2.4 Puma) Front Door Hinge M8 Screws are retained by... You should be able to get a slim spanner in from the side without removing the door card. Jeff

Thanks Jeffersj and others for info. I've had a look (should have done it before!) and have now found a slim open ended spanner that will fit without removing door cards. Cheers.
