I had nothing better to do and couldn't stop thinking about this headlight levelling..
Cause I can't understand the control mechanism..😫
So best ignore the thoughts above..
I'm now thinking that the dash switch sends the motor controller a varying voltage signal and the motor controller then switches the motor one way or other and knows when to stop based on that voltage.. so it's likely the motor has a supply all the time and would be switched from within the motor control circut..
But I find it hard to believe both motor circuts would fail electrically at the same time..not impossible..just less likely
Hope you can get a resolution and post it.. and hope its not two new motors😫

I actually came to the same conclusion after some late night googling yesterday. Permanent power supply to motors and they will stop when voltage is the same as what is coming from the switch.
I’ll take them out during the weekend and see if I can find something obvious. I’m thinking if the control rod is stuck for example, motor will try to move it but without luck. Therefore the signals will never agree.
I’ll report back whatever I find.

It’s been an eventful Saturday, curb side in Gothenburg. As I had the left headlight out, trying to figure out the hood latch studs, I took the levelling motor out.
First I unscrewed the adjustment screw a few turns and then I had look at the connector. It was green inside. Having nothing else at hand I sprayed some WD 40 into it and then plugged in and out a few times. Now it’s working as it should! Will the right one be as cooperative?

I read this a remembered mine were still not right. I’ll give them a clean at some point if parts of the 2.2 transit engine remain in the place they were meant to be- don’t explode-burst or fail.
