Thanks for the in-depth reply Custom.
Re the Purple and white, nope, didn't do anything and isn’t labeled Camera or trigger, how ever the incorrectly coloured green and white trace did work. As per the attached photos, the loom doesn’t match the instruction diagrams. Re the fuse, I always fuse immediately off any power supply. I’ll see if I can find the suitable connector block that the Rear Camera In RCA plug is connected to and only run that line to remove the extraneous audio cables, if not I’ll see if I can de pin the block vs cutting the lines. I live rurally so a definitive supply place in Cairns Australia is 100kms away. Thanks again for the great reply. I see what you mean, it might be the I.D. Heatshrink / tag has been put on the wrong wire colour when made, and then put in the wrong pin housing on the block.
Then they matched the tag to the pin location but not the wire colour. ![]() You can get keys to unpin, that is what I’d do too, what a pain. If you can heat the shrink you can likely slide it off, if it’s adhesive a bit more tricky, worse case very carefully slit it along its length, put it where it should be and a little clear over the top to keep it in place. Or a PVC adhesive electrical tape, fashioned into a flag, and you can write on it with a sharpie. ![]() ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Good on you mate, I’ve a Dymo that I can label with and routinely mark my cables with. I should invest in a heat shrink labeller, that would be great. I’ve a set of de pinning keys - pins here so will see if they're suitable, although its a pretty small pin access.
I’ll post what my outcome is.👍 2012 110 LS3 6.2 V8 - 6 Speed Auto |

As discussed, I de pinned the speaker connector so that only the ‘Camera In’ line is connected vs the spaghetti mess involved with connecting the cable with the un needed RCA plugs and three other cables.
Removing the individual cables was easier than expected, just requiring lifting the tiny plastic tabs and pulling the cables out. Best part is it should be easy to reassemble the loom if needed in the future should I fit an external amp. That will make the cable clutter behind the AV unit a little easier to manage.👍 ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 2012 110 LS3 6.2 V8 - 6 Speed Auto |

Good work.
![]() Yes, reducing bulk of wiring behind there is a good idea, also any longer wires, it’s a good idea to secure and protect them within reason so they don’t get stuck in or around the heater controls as they can get jammed up, not only stop them being operated but damaging the wires too. ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Okay, so I was troubleshooting problem "A", and in doing so, I thought I would check the load space fuses. It was dark and they are hard to read, so I checked them all. I think I made something in the entertainment system get screwed up. Suddenly, I can't select and play the radio. I cannot play spotify on carplay, I can't attach a phone to bluetooth. Everything in the media section, the left on the front display dashboard, doesn't work.
Any idea on what is locked up? I've reset the pivy. navigation works. I can't make any sound come out of the system at all. When I try to play carplay on my phone, spotify will not play, so the software knows it can't make sound. This is on a Defender 2020 110. FYI, it turns out, since it was dark and there is no fusebox map for the "FL" fuses, I put the fuse back in the wrong place. My problem is resolved. The discovery is people can reset their amp and maybe fix some of their volume knob silence problems by using FL13 or FL17 to reset the amp. I don't recall the number, but there is only one fuse there. Thanks for any advice. Scott Last edited by scottbraun5 on 10th Jul 2025 12:54pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Hi,
I'd like to install some new/improved speakers in my TD5; the old ones are simply worn out. It´s a 90, I just need them in the front. I've read a lot of good things about the Focal PS 130 FE, especially with the two tweeters on the dashboard. Unfortunately, I can't find a dealer who still has them in stock or can source them with any certainty. So my question is: Is there a good and recommendable alternative? I'd appreciate any advice; maybe someone has had the same problem... Thank you ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

Do you have Aircon or not?
I had a look with a set of 13cm Focals and they wouldn't fit due to the air outlets not allowing larger speakers.. In the end I went with ESX SXE4.2C speakers (https://esxaudio.de/english/sxe4.2c.html) which fit well and were significantly cheaper than the 10cm Focals. They sound OK - bit 'bright' (but that could be my tweeter placement on the dash), but you are never going to get decent bass from such a tiny speaker... |

Try asking / emailing BladeICE.
I have no connection to them, but they are quite good for sourcing stock, and can also import as well. For example there might be some US stock that they could get in, and ship to you. It depends on if the items are actually available, but I would try contacting them, mention exactly what you are looking for inc impedance, wattage, model no, etc etc. ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

There is no Aircon anymore. I asked someone who had installed the 130mm Focals, and he said with minimal adjustments it would fit... Thanks for the tip about BladeICE, I'll write to them. ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |

![]() 130’s do fit, but just be very careful with measurements. On a RHD the passenger side is closer IIRC. ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Nice, thanks for the info
![]() So, I'm still waiting for a response from BladeICE. Meanwhile, a shop here in Germany recommended these two as alternatives: GZTC130-2X: https://www.caraudio24.de/Lautsprecher/Gro...35855.html MPK 130.3 https://www.caraudio24.de/Lautsprecher/Her...44619.html Neither of these seems to come with a mount for the tweeters to mount them on the dashboard... Oh, and it's a LHD. Lets wait for BladeICE... Thanks and regards ![]() Defender 110 Puma 2.4 |
