looking neat there, I need new seats tbh, mine have seen better days,
With it starting to get cold now, its a test to see how well the battery is at kicking over the car. My 306 battery is starting to get a little tired now. So it could be worth changing it over for a new one. That's one thing I will be doing with the two is renewing the batteries for heavy duty units. Thanks Clayton, yes they did with a bit of tugging although the passenger one is jammed down and I couldn't shift it to get the velcro to go together so the material is just tucked in... The seat bases are a pain to get back in with eyelet at the back forcing them forward.. That wouldn't normally be a problem but now I'm having battery (Suspect) issues it is.. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

id be looking to install a new heavy duty battery on alan with a cut off switch system. I am going to do this with the 306 I think. due to how often that car is used now. Plus it saves the battery too. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

That's a bit strange that the headrest didn't want to come up, my old seat headrests would not come up as they were not meant to i found this out after i had to mend the driver's seat frame have you had the headrest up at all 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

I had the headrests off when I stripped the seats to re-upholster with new foams, covers and heated elements.. I wonder if i pushed that one back in too far.. maybe I'm just not strong enough I had to use a jack on a spanner today to get the gearbox oil drain plug undone.. I need more Weetabix.. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

mmmmmmmmm might pay one day to have a closer look You need to have 3 shredded wheat, not weetabix
At least you got the plug undone with a bit of creative thinking, at least you know next time it should come undone easier As the battery is giving you the run about, when mine went i put in a Oddessy 0ne, bit more to pay out but it has a much higher cranking output best money i spent on a battery, it never struggles to turn millie over even on the cold mornings 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. I did try levering it up with a bar.. I will have another tug at it...
My battery is behaving itself at the moment but then I have been driving Alan all week.. I have bought some leads with an Anderson plug so I can connect easily to my jump start battery thingy without having to remove the seat base etc... I will look into the Oddesey battery, I was contemplating one from Halfords 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |

That sound s good to me, just make sure your sitting down when you see the price of the battery good idea with the leads, this is my set up..........................
Click image to enlarge The leads go in under the metal cover, i cut out a corner so they could fit nice and not squeezed and i did file the metal smooth so no mishaps there as i got a winch on the front, i have an isolater fitted and i fitted the cables to that so they have to be " switched " on, the cable sits behind the middle seat and will reach out each side for use 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. That you Clayton... Thats what I had in mind when I ordered the cables.. I use a 175 to 50 adaptor to connect direct to my jump start power pack..
Click image to enlarge I had a slot cut out of the seat base for the heated seat wiring so I just widened that a tad and tucked the socket behind the seat, the adaptor is plugged in that with a cap on and tucked up in the corner out of harms way. Hi Carman,
The seat covers are from Exmoor trim.. a bit pricey but fit very well and are canvas as apposed to the usual nylon/waterproof material. I've just done a couple of 2 hour trips with them and they are great at stopping that 'sweaty back' that vinyl seats tend to give you. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |
