Been a while since the Penines trip. Not washed it yet Embarassed

Weather was a great mix of lashing rain and glorious sunshine. Lovely trip, lots of great lanes with a mix of campsite and wild camping.

Car behaved admirably. The steering got a bit vague. Turns out the arm had come loose on the steering box. Tightened up and steering is much better.

Post trip jobs that I got round to yesterday:

New one piece rear half shafts. The clunk had got much more pronounced so I was hoping this would help. The old ones had been welded at the flange but on one side the wall had broken and there was loads of play. Clunk has all gone now, nice easy fix and a huge difference.

It had also developed an annoying tapping sound. Almost like the an old school tappet needing adjustment. I suspected an injector seal. I had a set in the cupboard so I set to fitting them. Once I had the plastic cover off I could see that around one of the injectors was really mucky so the probable culprit.

In preparation I had bought a cleaning kit on ebay. I didn't go for a seat cutter, instead opting for one with plastic abrasive brushes. Anyhow, injectors came out OK. I did them one at a time, cleaningbout all the muck and scrubbing the seat so they were all nice and shiny before refitting. Tapping has now gone so another good, cheap fix Thumbs Up

Next job is to fit the new Bilstein shocks and see if standard height springs alter the stance (I suspect it is currently very low). Then I want to spend some time on the 200. Those new doors are not going to fit themselves alas Sad

After much deliberation and procrastination I have decided to sell this one Big Cry

It is a very nice luxury to have two 110's on the drive but they both need driving, maintaining and paying to keep on the road so one really did need to go.

Hop over to the for sale page if you are interested.

I have spent the last few weeks putting it back as close to standard as I can. Still looks nice and I do enjoy driving it. One last hurrah in a few days - taking it to France for a week of Christmas skiing.

For sale ad has been updated and it will be going on eBay in the new year.
