Been a little rough these last few weeks, Beatie had a nasty clunk, turned out to be the transmission drum had come loose Shocked
Had spare parts over from my old 300 TDi that in storage, which my dad bought by mistake, for the 200 I bought them off him. This was some time ago, so we rattled those on, and what a job that turned into, getting the drum back on! Sorted that out anyway, one of those jobs that shouldn't have needed to be done. But Dad knows best, but then again it sparked another horror, not sure if he had been scraping one of the brake pipes under there, but when i went under there, it had failed! So i decided to change the rear flexi hose on it, the end looked like it had seen better days. My dad said not interested in braided hoses? i had those on the 300 TDI and tbh i thought the brakes were worse personally. So i have decided to keep it OEM, What a laugh this has turned out to be, the rear flexi hose isnt like my dads as he thought it was, Him " they are all the same" Yeah so why has this one got a rear setup for ABS?
Found that out later on didnt i after bought the flexi hose for a non ABS model. ( flexi is shorter and the ends different) But Dad made his very 1st brake pipe, from the kit i bought off ebay, But he later Censored the pipe flare bolt thing. Messing about with it, with nickel pipe. He is wanting to put a nickel pipe on instead of the copper one he made, I am like sod that, i want the defender back on the road. We use the copper pipe and that's it. He watched somewhere that Copper was known to explode. I said where the hell you heard that from? we have been putting copper hoses on our cars for years! So fingers crossed i can get this sorted tomorrow, as he decided to tackle a job on his, which he needed my help with, again i think has turned into a nightmare! Shocked
So i may need to push to get beatie on the road, so mam can use trusty. Again my plans to pull Trusty off the road has been mothballed Rolling Eyes Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

looks like BeaTie is now my daily from now on, until Terr is back with us, She has just ticked over 130k there, and i am like i remember when she was less than 120k! Hard to believe! I am hoping i can have her paid off sooner, because i think its down to about 1k now i have to pay back to the bank, and she is durham pine. Very Happy
i think next year once she is paid for i can start to save a few more quid, and deploy some interior upgrades to her Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

put Beatie in for her MOT earlier than expected, due to me been on the late shift, and my mam using my trusty 306, while their 200 TDi ( terr) is in bits at the moment.
She flew through the mot!, also i am going to bell the bank to see how much i have left to pay on the loan, and pay it off earlier if i can. I am suspecting its going to be under a 1000 now. So i can put a few quid into her, this year. i have my eye on a few things. The lads at my new job thought i was one of the new gaffers when they saw me with the landy Laughing my new gaffer has already said, if the snow gets bad, you will be the taxi service Andy! only been there a month, and they have already got me on standby for the snow Laughing Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Great news on your MOT and that ‘promotion’ in work 😀
Don’t go paying off loans or throwing your money about until you’ve bought those replacement LR driving lamps…
