funny enough my 300TDi seemed to like BP over shell for some reason. I don't think we have Texaco stations in sunderland anymore. I think we may still have a JET?? unless that has now been switched to BP Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I found that BP and Shell were worse for Millie but just a bit better than supermarket fuel ( i had to fill up once as there were no fuel stations open when i was on manoeuvres ) Jet was a bit better but nothing is any better than Texaco for her Very Happy

At least you found the make of fuel that suits your Td5 engine Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

funny thing was the last post was her 3 year birthday with me!
I have just had the renewal through and they wanted £600 quid, nearly 200 quid more than what i was paying. Ran another quote and it came back at 250 quid, massive drop there, by 400 quid. only a round of drinks difference to the 306 insurance now. two cars to for the price of one Thumbs Up
Replaced the rear brake lens, they were starting to melt. checked the bulbs etc, and all is ok there. I have put it down to bad quality of lens, for the moment. Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

looks like i need new discs and pads for her, and also a wiper motor, it died on me, so i have had to rush like hell to get the 306 back so i have a working car in case it chucks it down with rain. Also i think i have the death wobble Sad so the front axle is going to need a over haul Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

what a day the wiper job turned out to be. My dad got a nasty shock, he said you don't need to go that far, Then when he saw, what why and when. He was like bloody hell! We have to slacken off more stuff to get the panel to move for the drive wheels! he didn't think it was going to be such a task. He doesn't read the forums etc, so he is not in the click with things at all. I showed him the photos of a puma getting done, and he said, that god i don't own one!

both of these had seized up and we suspected that it killed the motor,

My dad had to unwind the wire out of the drives, due to those been seized, My dad greased up everything with in an inch of its life, then While i swopped over the washer jet.
it all went back together with out a bother. No pictures of the everything back together, But its nice to have a working wiper system again and in much better health too!

I ordered off the discs and pads for BT, so that's the next job on the list a long with an Oil change. We did check the Land rovers front axles etc, just to be sure, and all is spot on, so we suspect that the wheels need a balance. The 306 has gone in for MOT, so i will have to see what that needs, that car has been off the road for best part of this year, due to fuel pump and water housing failure. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Looks like Beatie has a idle problem, running rough. looks like i will have to follow a few peoples advice on here 1st, just to see if the mafs bit the dust and Oil in the ECU loom. So i a clean down is on the cards by the looks of it. Hope its all ok though, i will order off a new loom for it, anyone recommend where to get a decent loom? Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

jumped on this today and yep, oil in the loom, causing trouble, opened the ECU to see if all is ok, which seems to be, nothing looked burned out etc. Funny thing is, it looks exactly like the k series VVC loom with the red and black. My dad said i bet its the same ECU but programmed differently. Ordered off genuine loom and gasket, so i should have this back in action next weekend, when i have day light. ECU is and plugs are drying off now. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Changed over the harness, fired up no bother, but i think the rains done the throttle pedal in, she will not go over 50 mph, i have read someone has had the same trouble here too. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
