I do not think have a photo to hand, however Steve shows them well. Thanks Steve

No extra drilling is necessary.

However a bit of care is necessary when tightening the bolts down especially if there is carpet or sound proofing under the stainless strip. Tighten them down evenly and ensure you do not get a dip around any bolts by overtightening any bolts.

That was why I didn't tighten them too much, though I would so far for a while then just a little tighter a bit later.

Very good they are too, mine need just a little more tightening as it's a tight fit to the door rubber at the bottom so tends to make the door bounce a little on the latch instead of closing. So you need to shut it a bit harder.
That's because I've got rubber and Dynamat under there though..

I see corner protectors there, but they don't appear to be screwed on?.....If so, how are they attached?

Just out of interest Land Rover stopped fitting carpets to the Utility around 2012 MY. I had a 2011 fitted with carpets and when I picked up my 2013 model was horrified to find none, took it back to be informed that they weren't even an optional extra, only now fitted to Station wagons so bought a set from Exmoor very good.

So does anyone have the LRI carpets fitted please?

I am wanting to carpet my 90 over my newly installed dynamat... but now I just don't know which way to go...

Like you, I would prefer the less blingy and less easily scratched product.

Looks like I shall be contacting Brendan when I get my January pocket money (December's money is already spent!).
(Sorry Brendan, I missed the items when looking at your website - maybe I should use my pocket money for new glasses!).

My rear threshold (from SP who are up this way) is 'brushed' and gets lots of traffic. It looks fine and will certainly not end up like its predecessor.......

I have the paste and the ACF50 at the ready!

The YRM ones (front door)dont have a channel cut into them(its hard to tell from the picture) ..will any water that is collected in that channel flow towards the back of the door?

Hi David,

I would suggest that you go with the LRI tread plates.. I installed them on my one.. the difference between the ones Steve has installed and the LRI tread plates are the bolts and the glossy finish, LRI ones come with nice round headed bolts with square head bottoms (for lack of words) see the image below. They give a nicer finish overall, the only pain is you have to tighten the nuts from underneath the car not sure if there is a better way to say this

.. . I am totally satisfied with my purchase. It is cheaper to buy directly from the LRI website.

I did notice those above, quite nice.
On both you need to tighten from underneath anyway at least I did to avoid and damage around the bolts up top.
Very easy job if you have no side steps but a little more awkward if you do.
Having said that it's a useful tool stand.
Make sure you don't change on gravel or grass too in case you lose a washer as it'll be a devil to find if you can at all!

Arsath, that type of bolt is called a coach bolt. If it has a screw driver slot in the top it becomes a roofing bolt.

Looking at that photo to me it looks like a galvanised mild steel coach bolt rather then a stainless coach bolt. However it can be difficult to tell from a photograph. The stainless coach bolts we have are thinner in the rim, smoother finish and have rings on the head (IIRC)

When fitting any after aftermarket kit whilst parked on gravel/grass it is a good idea to put a tarp on the ground first. Can make finding that dropped nut, washer, socket much easier.

I'm interested in the answer to the 'carpet question' too. But after Dynamat (or similar) I will use mass-loaded vinyl - eg eBay eBay Item No. 151560151880 under the carpet. (At the risk of thread diversion, Dynamat type stuff is meant to damp panel resonance, MLV will reduce noise intrusion and carpet will muffle the interior so they each have a role.) Cheers, Guy.
