Rudeness
I have only been a member for a few months, but appalled by some of the comment from other members. Who do you think you are, you undermine members, you are rude to them, you forget that you once joined the forum as a novice. Can I ask if you can think before you make your comments !!! Some of us are new to Defenders and would appreciate help rather than insult.

Any comments in particular? There are moderators here and I'd say Martin does a pretty good job in making sure this is an approachable place to come. People get annoyed when new members come and ask a question that's been asked a millino times before. Even if you cant be bothered to search on this forum, type the question into google and nine times out of ten it'll refer you to a forum with the answer, usually this one!

I cant say that I've seen much in the way of offensive comments directed towards other members. I agree that sometimes peoples opinions can be divisive, but thats all they are- opinions, which are usually what the OP is asking for...

Hi Coco,

I just had a look at your previous posts and the replies you got and they all seemed quite polite to me. Was there something specific that upset you..?

I've been on here for a few years and found the help I received very useful. There's always debate and banter, but it has always been polite as far as I can see.

Hope things get better for you.

Cheers

Simon

PS A good tip is to enter your model details into your profile and it will show up in your posts, so people will know the details of what you drive.

Coco

I think in some instances you are quite right with your comments. You have also got to remember that some of the peeps on here are purists and only like standard defenders.
Some people also post pics just to get a reaction from the few that will react. The majority of ladies and gents on the forum are more than willing to help in any way they can.
Please don't take it all to heart as most of the time it a bit of banter.

Don't get me wrong there are a number of rude people on every forum.

The main thing to remember is IT'S YOUR CAR YOU DO WITH IT AS YOU PLEASE.Regardless of what other's think and say

Thumbs Up

Sorry you have been offended by something or other. Kudos to you though, it's a brave soul who, as a newcomer, walks into a pub and then moans about the locals Laughing Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

Probably best not to be defensive in the first instance. Some of the threads you read do get quite heated on occasion and could give the wrong impression. My wife and I don't always come across as model citizens when we dine out but in the end it all works out despite the noise Laughing Any farther South and I'll need to trade the Defender in for a Landing Craft Smile

Hello Coco

Stick with it, novice or not there is plenty of really good advice on here,
search it out, add where you can, overall this helps to build the 'knowledge base'... Thumbs Up

I've been impressed with the conduct of members on here,
many go out of their way to answer others.

The Site Sponsors also provide a positive contribution.

It will be time consuming to manage this forum (and the others).

From what I've seen Martin has done a good job of getting the 'tone' right. SKIP
