Bottom left of the above photo the black box with electrical connector on the top.
You shouldn't need to take off the connector.
There are metal clips around the bottom that lock under compression, just undo those and that's it.
Lift filter out.

Just to add to Steves reply.
Make sure the new filter is fully seated in theair filter box,or you wont get the lid on.

Glad I didn't ask otherwise I suspect I might have been in for some abuse Very Happy

Glad luck. Not that you'll need it, it's a piece of cake. The difficult bit is making sure that the lid is fully secured - it's easy to think it's been fighting correctly when in fact the edge under the wing it's properly fitted.

Hello hossegor

This shows the Air Filter cover un-clipped and the new Filter installed on my 2.4 Puma.

It's a bit tight to remove the cover initially, but it is possible, look carefully to check that the
new filter is seated in the correct position, not too difficult a job overall if you take your time.

You do end up thinking it would be nice if the wing would just moved out of the way though... Exclamation
give it a go, now you know where it is... Thumbs Up

Good Luck

When I bought my Puma second hand (or should that be "pre loved"?) the air filter got soaked during a down pour due to the cover not being correctly installed. Stealer gave me a new filter to compensate for that so no complaints there.
I do nearly all my own work on it and have found this to be the best method for me:

Loosen the clip holding the turbo pipe on and remove it.
Undo clips holding the filter cover and remove it carefully pushing the aircon hose out of the way. Remove air filter.
To reassemble fit new filter into cover and while standing beside vehicle feed cover and filter under the wing in front of you keeping the end nearest you down.
Push aircon hose out of way and gently push the filter "leaves" back towards you whilst still sliding the cover/filter towards you.
The air filter will drop down into the box and the cover will fit under the holding latches under the wig quite easily using this method.

I use a mirror and torch to check that it's seated properly and have always found it's good using this method but I'm not saying others are wrong, just this works for me.
"Try it, you'll like it" .......
AlanH.

After re fitting lid, start the engine and you'll hear if the lid is on properly. A deep rhythmic noise will be heard if the lid isn't on properly.

Could be worse, could be a BMW!
Yes all of this has to be removed to change the air filter.
