If it's a QT style guard, then yes you need to undo a couple of nuts on the diff. Then slip the bracket over the bolts and align with the main part of the guard.
I used a trolley jack under the main guard to push it up so you can fit the bolt that joins the two parts together. Hope that helps. Cheers Simon |

And the smaller plate is for the rear diff which is a spacer to clear the prop rotation, chances are you will need it. I did with mine. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

I bought the one form Paddocks as well. It dint' fit and required modification. I wasn't impressed with the quality.
As I remember you need to undo the brake hose bracket on top of the diff housing to pass the small bracket underneath. I din't fit it in the end. Just ordered a front and rear set from QT. PM sent |

The QT guard is very good and i would say better than most others, in that it has a guard that pushes the car up and away from the hazard. However i will say they are quite awkward to fit, but worth it in the end.
This is how i placed it on the car: You undo the top 2 nuts on the diff, slide the small plate onto the studs then loosely do the nuts up . Place the main guard on the bottom of the diff, with the bolts just hand tight and hold the small plate and guard together and fit the bolt through one of the 2 holes and tighten up; I used thread lock here as well. Then torque the bottom fixings of the guard to diff up and hey presto and it will guard your diff from the worst boulders. |
