aligning doors
Door hinges. They obviously attach the the door and the body. If aligning the doors would I assume you adjust / loosen the hinge / door had or the hinge / body part or a combination of both?

Most of the adjustment is on the bulkhead side of the hinge, so I would start there.

Can be a bit of a pain to line up, I normally loosen off the bulkhead fixings, close the door and use thin wood packers to the bottom of the closed door where required to aline, then tighten up the bulkhead fixings.

Not forgetting you might need to adjust the door catch as well. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I found aligning the doors quite a pain on your own. Enlist a keen mate it makes it a lot easier. There's a great feeling about making them shut well.

I slack everything off then hold it in place while a mate tightens it up. Adjust the catch and away you go.

no worries about finding doors haven't been painted behind hinges?

just got the one door to do. will have to try the wooden blocks first and then call in the calvary if I can't do it by myself. Thumbs Up
