Not in but for...

Went to see the nice people at DDS Metal Services in Coventry to pick up most of the new doors.

Had some thoroughly interesting conversations with them and there was a Dutch registered Series 1 Station Wagon in the car park to ogle. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Fitted toughsystem drawers a while back and now a tote for extra storage out the way. Tote can just be unclipped which is handy when im taking a few tools in and out and draws are attached using custom brackets on existing factory holes.

Thanks thought someone else might find it useful. It only overhangs the wing abit and gives some useful extra storage. Makes tools, recovery gear etc easy to grab especially if you have lots of stuff in the back like I do alot.

After jet washing the life out of the chassis last week and leaving it to dry, I took advantage of the hot weather to Lanoguard it ready for another year. It was done last Autumn and still looked great underneath.

Changed engine oil and filters, fuel filter, and oil in diffs, gearbox, and transfer box. Greased all props and ball joints whilst under there.

A element of the placebo effect is kicking in…

Tightened the contacts in the main relay and fuel pump relay bases.... They were very slack!
Applied Captain Tolleys to the windscreen / bulkhead seal

A tip run and checked clutch fluid after swapping the slave. Looking good, fluid level has not dropped.

However, I did spot some coolant had dribble passed the coolant tank cap:-(

New cap on order. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Took my 110 to Simply Landrover at Beaulieu motor museum and did the forest drive. I’ve been going for the last 5 years. The past 2 years have be been in my Puma 2.2 UXS. I skipped the off road course last year as the Drivetrain was full of slack. But since last year I’ve fitted one piece half shafts and it went into the garage for a LOF Powerade clutch and extreme spec output shaft so now has virtually no slack.
I made good use on of the tilt off-road function on the Stinger Heigh10. Was fun seeing how far we were tilting working our way around the course. We had 21degree to the side and 18degree down hill at different points of the course
Very impressed at how easy it was compared to my TD5 I had before. I only needed low range for 1 part of it as 1st is pretty low already
