JW Speaker install issues (Monkey with a Skrewdriver)
Morning All.

Had another look this morning and i seem to have Censored up the Speaker light install. It doen't fit flush in the Bezel, it isn't secured when installed with freedom to rotate and worst of all the sidelight doesn't work. This has proved an utter disaster for me. I have changed bulbs etc before but with the new front end etc I seem to have royally cocked it up and don't know how to fix it.

Anyone got an install page for the SVX front end or knowledge to help?

My beam level adjuster is also not working at all when i turn the knob, just stays in place.

Can anyone help? One very stuck and woeful Lishlandy very close to Xmas.

***PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN INSTALL ISSUE AND DOES NOT REFLECT IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM THE SPEAKER 8700 LIGHTS QUALITY OR PERFORMANCE THAT I AM INSTALLING, THIS IS PURELY USER ERROR***

(Thought it best to put that little disclaimer in as peoples interpretations of words can lead to pessimistic conclusions) ===================================

To get the headlamp to fit into the bezel, I had to take emery cloth to the outside edge of the headlamp to remove the thicker bits of the housing coating. Once this was done the headlamp eventually fitted into the bezel and even after that it was still a tight snug fit. Thumbs Up

The bezels can be a b4st4rd to fit. An issue I was led to believe was 'going to be addressed?' As Brian stated emery cloth does the trick. As an addition and as there is no heat involved I also sealed the bezels with a smidge bead of sealant to stop any crud from creeping through. Sealant beginning with 'S' I used....

The Bezel is secured to the headlamp using the original clips and screws.

No need for sanding etc as you have the Chrome Passivate finish so the rings go straight on OE and aftermarket.

If you have an adjuster motor is it still connected to the bowl?

I had a job with the motors because LR had made such a balls up with the adjuster screws. The lower ones were in so tight that there was no room for the motors to pull the bottom back. I ended up taking all the screws out and starting from scratch. Good thing is the Speakers are Censored easy to adjust as the light cut off is so sharp Thumbs Up Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Hi Tim, the adjuster motor is still attached as well as the screw. Do I not need the headlight adjuster for the speaker lights?

Ze.....I know what you mean, not even a month old and I have a solid coating of chalky corrosion on the adjuster screw.

As stated in the first post, I am sure it is 110% user/installer error and don't want it to turn into a Speaker justification thread. Smile we already have several of those Razz ===================================

Talking of "installer error" when I tried to fit the bezel on the first light, I had to do it again because
a) Despite taking care, I had it at the wrong "o'clock" position (come on - it isn't entirely obvious), and
b) after correcting a) I still had to refit the clips more precisely
In my defense, I was unbelievably excited at the prospect of switching them on for the first time Razz Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
