Mick - if you have actually read my earlier posts you will know that there is nothing wrong with my old one, other than it is now too small due to the purchase of larger chairs. There is nothing wrong with it construction or condition wise..... so there!

Errrr no Mick, because the small Isabella is hardly any bigger than the small lightweight we got. We'd have never bothered to put the Isabella up because heavy ones are a PITA to put up.
Obviously advantages to both.... 
Are you an Isabella Sales Rep or something? On commission?  |

I had a cracking Harrison porch awning that I bought 2nd hand for my Stirling caravan, it was very good, was 8' deep and was 10' long(well it was a 26' caravan) and could be put anywhere down the length of the caravan(windows permitting) I only ever used it once mainly because the full awning didn't take much putting up and with dogs and kids it was nice to have as much space as possible.
Then of course the other reason was......................It was for the shorter height caravan , if the ground sloped away from you, then even the mud skirt wouldn't touch the floor  Still, managed to sell it for what I paid for it 2 years later |

The resale value of second hand ones are close to what you would pay for a new one, they are that good and desirable! Yes if I had bought an Isabella first time around it would have been cheaper in the long run ! Its true that you only pay for quality once but some of us never learn ! But I'm happy enough with the Bradcott for now |

We've got a Bradcott porch awning as it was the only company that makes one that will fit a Carlight.
Because of the lantern roof, our awning rail is too low to take most. If anyone knows of a springy poll quick erect one that will suit us, we'd love to hear about it. |

Another vote for Isabella, we bought our smaller one for £300 second hand, always a thought, some don't get used hardly at all.
That's a hell of an outboard on your inflatable Brian   It's looks about the same size as the 6HP Yammy I have on my boat 6 knots max hull speed on mine :whistle:

Laurie - Our small porch (see pic on page 1 of this thread) has 3 springy poles - 2 cross over each other and the other one circles them - gives rigidity.
As I also mentioned above avoid 'tube' shaped light awnings with springy poles are they tend to collapse (like tube tents of the same type) in the wind. The reason we are going for the Kampa one is because it has rigid poles, but still light. They are also adjustable so that you can pitch on slopes without making the awning twist. Not sure if that helps or not! |

Chris, it's a 2st yammy 20HP short shaft, lost my bottle at 35knots, GPS speed. Flat bottomed inflatables and swell plus speed don't mix that well, kept wanting to flip over nose to tail

You nutter Brian, I was expecting your answer to say it was a 4HP, yeah definitely need a RIB for that power ratio Or your second boat, the transom won't rip off on that one |

I had a 4st 6HP on it to start with and the dogs would overtake me on full throttle, they where swimming by the way. So I thought something bigger was in order so I got the 20
 Much more fun......
