Problem solved. Bump started it to save the misses and kids. Blast out on the bike to a dealer that promised to stay open till I got there. Phew!

Just had this happen to me. The advice on here was superb! I checked the bulbs and fuses, replaced the switch, bridged the dim/dip relay but in the end it turned out to be a burnt relay.
 Soldering iron.
