I was wondering what you guys would recommend?
The prices vary wildly on ebay, dynamat seems good but im wondering if it's overpriced as it's endorsed by Chip Foose... Try Fatmat instead, very similar to Dynamat but cheaper and the quality seems identical as does performance. Did both my 90 and 110 with it, no issues what so ever to report.
It sat in my 90 for 3 years and going on a year in my 110. Definitely makes a big difference However its best when used with multiple layers of closed cell foam* where ever you can fit it really! Then a final layer of carpet/rubber trim on top. *When sticking down use a high temp heavy duty spray glue, not the self adhesive foam, slight bit of heat and it comes away... |

I've used Silent Coat products on mine - both the damping mats and the foam isolator - and I'm really pleased with the result. I haven't finished yet as I've still got the front floor and seat box to do, but I've completed the rear tub and roof and it's transformed it from a noise level perspective.

I uses silent coat with a 8MM soft cell foam over the top also. Fatmat is a good cheaper alternative to dynamat, I found however that I had to double the layers of fatmat, so the cost savings are negligible.
Fatmat also doesn't seem to hold as well as Dynamat I would advise not to use on the roof that's for sure as it will begin to peel off. |

I stripped out loads of Noise Killer ~6mm matting from the floor of mine because the foam inner was acting like a sponge and holding water. I've replaced it with 2mm unbranded Dynamat/Silentcoat type stuff from eBay which seems good for sound deadening but not as good at noise reduction. Maybe it needs another layer or a high density closed cell foam overlay? The effectiveness of a big mid-panel pad of the 2mm stuff on the door skins makes it worthwhile going to the trouble of removing the door card and plastic liner.

Did a full Silent Coat DIY on a 110 SW 7-seater last year. Easy to use, just time consuming. Fantastic results, especially with carpets back on top. Used Colin at the Sound Deadening Shop. Usually does a discount for Def2 members. Also very efficient delivery and helpful with any questions. Recommended. Here's what I used:
Silent Coat 2mm Mat, Silent Coat Isolator 6mm and Dodo Pro Barrier MLV. Going to do my DCPU in the next week or so and whilst I was thorough on the SW looking to do even more on the DCPU including adding Isolator to the interior of the door cards, potentially unscrewing the floor plates and adding Isolator underneath, and (depending on advice from the forum) would take the dash off if worth it and there are places to be tackled.
