Out of curiosity, where do you measure EGT on a 200 Tdi? I plan to install a sender in mine but I am a bit unsure where about.

You mean if I weld the original Tdi mounts then it won't fit because the frame is higher than the old radiator?

Another thing that struck me, the mounts for the frame / radiator look different on mine and are positioned much more towards the engine. I thought the chassis is the same from 1987 on, am I wrong?

Good point, do you think the ABS plastic outer wings provide much less stability for the bulkhead than the aluminium panels? The rest will be aluminium anyway.
