Since there is no Check engine light on then I will not think about the crank sensor.
Since there is no Block engine light it should no be the key FOB also.

looks pretty normal to me, with that test you are adding the play on the axle and the differential.

| I rather make the oil changes often (say 5000km) and with the engine warm, the detergents on a good quality oils should be enough, if not sure then change it mor often. |

Mine whines at the same speeds, more on 80kmh and less at 100kmh, then I canīt hear nothing at 120kmh, not even my thoughts.
I guess its just the way it is. |

IMHO I donīt think there will be an additive solution for the crunch, I once read that that the defender has a hesitation gearbox, that means you have to hesitate for a fraction before each gear.

Hello all, I had the same problem with a noisy pump that had the internal filter clogged, I cleaned and works perfectly now.
It also starts whining when the fuel filter is dirty. |
