Well after many months and almost exactly a year after the problem first surfaced, its back.
Front drivers wheel traction control activating, sometimes lightly, sometimes violently.

They seem variable, but mine has blown clouds of white smoke on a properly cold start from day one in 2011.

I got a genuine Bosch one for a Puma for less than 30 quid from GSF.

Identical to the LR part.

Well after saying cleaning the earth wire fixed it....it returned. Not as bad, but started again.

The fix, a new battery....was still starting the car fine, but I thought battery when the traction ...

I notice there is a label under the bonnet of the 2.4 saying do not drain the coolant.

Mine however has changed from a nice orange colour to a brown rust colour, so thinking of changing it.

There must be some residual stress left in the glass from manufacturing. It's a bit ironic though that this seems to happen on the simplest bit of glass in the automotive industry.
