Yep, thanks gents. I did try that. Then I actually went in and undid the ccf change, then re-did it -- alas, no start/stop remembering last state for me Sad.

Not a huge deal just a mystery as it doesn't seem to work on mine (2020 X 110 NAS model)

GAP IID Tool for parking assist
Has any been able to use the tool to enable park assist.
I have the 360 cameras but would like to enable the self parking assist.
I have a MY23
Looks like 059 - parking assistance & maybe 099 Parking assist camera might have something to do with the function but I am not sure of the settings
thanks

I don't think any of the Defenders have park assist so I would be surprised if it can be enabled. The CCF file covers many cars in the range so not everything that is listed in there applies to the Defender, I'm not saying it can't be done but I haven't seen anybody that has tried. Confused Cheers Ian

If they don't have the display no, they are not compatible with the Defender. 2020 NAS Defender 110 HSE 5-seater / Silver / Khaki / Black Pack / Black Roof / Satin Film / Cold Pack / Off-Road Pack / Advanced OR Pack / Comfort + Convenience Pack / Sirius + HD radio / HUD / Meridian Surround

If you do an ECU listing with the GAP Tool one of the last is the one that matters. It states the KVM status. If it says 'Locked for Life' then you need a new KVM as well as the activity key. I had GAP confirm this for me. The KVM is around £180. Unfortunately as you have to have all your keys coded to the new one it has to be done on Pathfinder. If you want to fit the KVM yourself then the car would have to be already on the trailer you are using to take it to the dealer as it will be undrivable until the keys have been programmed. That is of course unless you have a friendly dealer who will let you work on the car yourself at their premises - not going happen round where I am! Defender D300 HSE 110 MY22 Pangea Green

Well just fitted an alcantara steering wheel and flappy paddles, can't wait until I can get them activated. I also changed the steering wheel trim from the white to a dark grey one Very Happy

Hi Dan,

I am Bert and fairly new to the forum. As I get little support in retrofit where I come from, I had started journey of DIY both the hardware install and coding. How's your activation with your steering wheel retrofit going? I have been stuck with progress having changed to an aftermarket heated steering wheel, genuine JLR paddle shifters, right switch pack (with heat), wiring loom and tweaked these parameters in my CCF Tool but to no effect. So am looking online for pointers on area I may have missed.

These were what I changed.
- 171 / MDF 1947 / HEATED STEERING WHEEL / 02 With Heated Steering Wheel
- 536 / MDF 4D57 / GearboxPaddlesinDrive / 01 Active in drive
- 537 / MDF 4D67 / SWSGearSelectors / 02 Fitted

As my 2020 P400 came without heated steering wheel. I am not sure if I am missing anything pertaining the switch I changed. If yours came factory fitted with heated steering, could you help verify what value is yours on this line item?

- 189 / MDF 1867 / AUDIO BUTTONS STEERING WHEEL / 02 Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel

other possible options are:
00 Not Supported
01 No Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel
03 Audio Buttons and MFD Remote Controller in Steering Wheel

I am suspecting MFD mean Multi Function Display which may be relevant to the heat icon light ?

There's also this one line with as its abbreviation seemingly related yet its options seems not:
- 672 / MDF 6085 / SlcHeatedSteerWhl / 01 Not Fitted

Selectable options:
00 Not Supported
01 Not Fitted
02 Available to the driver only
03 Available to the driver and front passenger only
04 Available to the driver front passenger and all passengers in row 2 only
05 Available to the driver front passenger all passengers in row 2 and all passengers in row 3
07 Error

I am so tempted to engage a remote activation service (programmer quoted me USD 150) should I have exhausted all avenues seeking info on this retrofit.

Hi Bert, welcome to the forum Thumbs Up With regard to the paddles I have yet to get mine working yet, I suspect there is another parameter that the guys at GAP are still working on.

I have the same settings as your for the following but no luck yet

- 171 / MDF 1947 / HEATED STEERING WHEEL / 02 With Heated Steering Wheel
- 536 / MDF 4D57 / GearboxPaddlesinDrive / 01 Active in drive
- 537 / MDF 4D67 / SWSGearSelectors / 02 Fitted

Mine had the heated steering wheel from the factory so I only changed the wheel, paddles and wiring harness, with mine already having the heated wheel I was told that mine would have the correct right hand switch fitted. Another thing I was told was that if I didn't have the heated wheel I would also need the clockspring that sits at the top of the column. I'm just on my way out now but I will have a search of the parts catalogue and see if I can find it for you when I get back

For this one I take it you mean EUCD-187 Audio Buttons, Steering Wheel
Mine is set to
Audio Buttons In Steering Wheel

Mine is set to
MultiCAN-672 SlcHeatedSteerWhl
Available to the driver only

You mention that yours is a P400 is it a P400e PHEV? The only reason I ask is that apparently the flappy paddles wont work on this variant. Cheers Ian

So can l buy this programming tool yet? People on this thread appear to be using it, but there's no word as to whether l can buy one, or where to get it from in the U.K.

You have been able to buy the tool for the past couple of years but it didn't work with post 2017 cars,
that's not the case now and the software has been in Beta testing since last October. The software is still in Beta so if you want the polished version to work on your new Defender I would hold on for a while until it is out of Beta or if you want to test the software get in touch with Patrick at GAP and ask if they will allow you onto the Beta programme and then you can buy your IID tool and participate. I have found the best place to get the IID tool in the UK is from Duckworths at Market Rasen but I would ring and speak to Sophie in the parts department if you want the best price Thumbs Up Cheers Ian
